original post —> hereI didn’t accuse of you of believing that, no worries. This blog is for my response on matters such as these so that I can observe how I react to them and structure my beliefs better, as well as communicate with others about various topics. Basically, to learn. It is also important to note that I do not mean to point fingers at Christianity as a whole, but to those organizations representing the Christian faith who would knowingly initiate practices that are detrimental to the progress of human equality and free will, believing that it will instead enrich their own spirit. Calling an entire faith out as the problem just because I don’t agree with them would make me no better than these organizations, and I understand I am walking on eggshells by expressing my views through text where they can be easily misinterpreted. I’ll do my best to remain as clear as possible!

toecramps: But when it is said that we are made in God’s image, it is meant to state that God had his imperfections as well, because the bible is very clear that we are born sinners lol. If you look from Genesis in the Old Testament on, it shows a curious, jealous god that is still learning the way of things, “he saw the light was good” etc. So, I think the point of saying God was a man in Jesus is to show that we are born awful things but we can find salvation, as God became a loving, willing being. But that’s assuming we are talking about Christianity haha
inneruniverse: I would disagree with the bible that we are born sinners. Rather, we are born beings with enormous potential to influence the world around us, including the full capability to do awful things. The idea of God “learning the way” and suddenly becoming pure further identifies him as a fairy tale character in my mind, as achieving “purity” (freedom from adulteration or contamination) is impossible in present day society. Christianity itself proves this as it openly battles human rights, undermining God’s own model of becoming a “loving, willing being” through its blatant intolerance of alternative lifestyles and various aspects of free will. And they saw that the hypocrisy was good.
toecramps: Oh yeah, by no means do I believe that stuff haha. I wouldn’t really call Christianity the problem, moreover the followers of Christianity, of any organized religion are the hypocrisy. I mean, personally I find it kind of disingenuous to call the religion or the belief in a Christian God the problem when it is all fabricated and caused by a small handful of people
No problem, no hard feelings here <3
